Okay, I was finally able to reproduce the error. Please double-check whether you’re following the instructions in Step 2. Are you using 7-Zip > Extract Here or selecting Extract All?
7 zip extract here I’m using and using password infected
Okay, I’m stumped. Could you take a video of Steps 1-5 and share that through Google Drive or something comparable?
Yes what is your email
I’ll message it to you
Okay - just reviewed your video.
After extracting the malicious file, you’re supposed to copy that extracted file to the C drive.
It looks like you’re extracting the file successfully, but rather than copying the extracted file, you’re opening up the original .zip archive and trying to copy the archived file to the C drive.
When you see that new .exe file appear above Sample1.zip - you need to copy the .exe file.
Hey I sent you the email of the video you find a solution yet
Yup, just replied above.
I see how you could mis-read the instructions:
In the File Explorer, copy the malicious .exe file from the Sample1 folder, and paste it to the C:\ drive.
Given the prior step to extract the file, this was intended to mean that you copy the extracted file that came from the Sample1 folder - rather than going back into the Sample1 folder and copying the original unextracted file.
I’ll update the step to be clearer.
Thank you it worked out
