Active Directory Basics 1.3 challenge exercise Flag - Not getting evil group points

Okay i am out of patience now.

so i created 3 users and one group as instructed using GUI in Active Directory Basics GUI Machine

so from my understanding you need to create one group “Evil” and put 3 users inside that.
i did that and went to check for flag. it gave me 0 Point

and i was getting an error saying “Can not find an object with identity : Heroes” well that’s weird i didn’t see Heroes mentioned in challenge anywhere. but i still created one Heroes group and ran flag. and i got one point my users are inside Evil group yet it’s not being counted? what am i doing wrong. i’ve been stuck on this for past 3 hours.

Thank you.

Which machine are you using to create your users/groups and run the flag? There are two machines in the lab: Windows 2022 GUI and Windows 2022 PowerShell. Both include a flag.bat file on the Desktop.

In the Guided Exercise, you’re instructed to use the flag.bat file on the Active Directory Basics GUI machine to obtain the flag required for the last question.

In the Challenge Exercise, you’re instructed to modify the legionofdoom.local domain, which you configured on the Active Directory Basics PowerShell machine in the Guided Exercise. Accordingly, you should be adding your users and groups to the Active Directory Basics PowerShell machine, you should use the flag.bat file on the same.

That said, I agree that the Challenge Exercise should explicitly state “On the Active Directory Basics PowerShell machine” - I’ve added that to the beginning of the Challenge intro.

i’ve completed guided exercise, so the challenge exercise build up on powershell one? since i finished that earlier and then i didn’t continue that vm was done,

so when i started with challenge exercise i created “legionofdoom.local domain” using GUI machine, and then continued, created 3 users and one “evil” group. added all those users into the evil group and when i run the bat i was getting error about “Heroes”.

so if i am understanding correctly i was doing exercise in wrong machine. yeah i just checked now you have added that it should be done in powershell machine.

if i can suggest you should also make it bold in guided exercise at the beginning since user is getting booted first into powershell one but they are expect to make changes in GUI one - NVM you also made changes in guided exercise it is much more clear now for beginners. Thank you
