CompTIA IT Fundamentals+ Certification - My Starting Point in Tech

This is my first post here on the Cybrary forums, and I wanted to share something a bit personal. Recently, I have decided to begin my journey into the IT field, and after spending some time reading and researching, I have chosen to start with the CompTIA IT Fundamentals+ certification, which exam is FC0-U61.

For me, this is not just about passing an exam; it’s more about understanding the very basics of technology and seeing if IT is truly the right path for me. I know there are more advanced certifications out there, but I see the CompTIA IT Fundamentals+ certification as a kind of “first checkpoint,” a way to get a feel for the foundational concepts without diving too deep too fast.

I don’t have a technical background, so I’m approaching this with curiosity more than confidence, but I guess that’s the point of learning. I will be using [REDACTED] questions and Cybrary’s platform for exploring the discussions here as I go. I would love to hear if anyone else has started (or started with) CompTIA IT Fundamentals+ certification and how that decision shaped your learning path afterward.

Good luck on your journey!!

I redacted the resource you mentioned in your post. This resource is a well known source of “brain dump” style questions that claim to be actual test questions. I understand the desire to know what’s on a test, and if a student chooses to leverage such a resource, well I’m not one to point fingers. That being said it’s not something we encourage.
