In the guided exercise it tells you to input a command into the terminal to run Snort, but when I input the command it gives a fatal error and Snort terminates. Am I inputting the command incorrectly? If so please correct.
The error is telling you that the snort.conf file has a syntax error.
I’m still a bit confused here. The lesson didn’t have me make any changes to a configuration file, it just says that ‘you will see no output from snort as it waits and listens’. Is it something with the guided lesson or do I need to do something else to make it work properly?
