I am having issues opening the pcap files in /home/cybrary/Desktop/pcaps folder
I am not able to open the files using any of the applications that system suggests, and I cannot move forward with the lab

Hey there - to read the pcap files, you should be using the same tools / commands and process that you used in the final steps of the Guided Exercise. Note: Be sure to create the local rules first, also following the same process as the Guided Exercise.
If those commands are failing, could you please post a screenshot of your terminal here?

For this lab, are we supposed to be using the commands from the previous lab?
I am not following how I am supposed to do these labs without the commands in this lab. Should I be writing all of the commands down on paper to use on this lad?
Same lab, previous lesson (IDS Basics - Guided Exercise). The intention of the Challenge Exercise is to allow learners to apply concepts and retrace workflows from the Guided Exercise without step-by-step instructions.
In this case, if it helps you to write down commands or take screenshots to reference while you work on the Challenge Exercise, that’s probably a good approach. You can also navigate back and forth between the two lessons while you work on the Challenge.
Keep in mind that Challenge Exercises are optional. If you prefer to keep moving forward with new topics, you can skip past this one.
