Hello, I am unable to complete the Social Engineering Basics Lab due to an error with the dnsmasq.service. Could you please provide any advice? I tried to enable the service after seeing it was disabled, but that did not help.
Hey there - if this command is failing, it likely means there’s an issue with your edits to the dnsmasq.conf file in the preceding steps.
I just tested those steps and noticed that the precise vi editor instructions in the Note after Part 1, Step 7 needed to be updated, as the default IP range for this lab has changed, and now requires edits to the last three octets - not just the last two. If you were following the instructions in the Note exactly and only editing the last two octets, that explains why the systemctl command was failing.
