Symmetric Cryptography 1.2. Guided Exercise Can't Type Password

Hello all,

I’ve been stuck on step 2:1 for so long just because I can’t physically type in the password no matter what. It’s so weird because everything else works fine. Whatever I type in doesn’t show up on screen. I tried using the virtual keyboard as well with no luck. Tried it on a different browser as well (Google Chrome then Safari), same issue. Also tried writing out “password” to copy and paste into the Terminal.

I’m working on the new MacBook Air M4 in Germany with a ABC - QWERTZ keyboard where I tried switching to ABC only with no luck.

Please help!

This is normal behavior on Linux systems. Your inputs won’t be represented on-screen for security reasons, but rest assured the system is receiving them. If you just type out the password and press Enter, it will work.
