Certification question - do i only get badge and not certificate?

Do i not get a certificate for completing It & foundation course?

on credly i got the badge but where is the certificate ?

I have seen others run into an issue getting the badge, and in those cases they completed the Career Path without being Enrolled. Check to see if you are enrolled:

i’m enrolled @JosephWhite

Thank you for checking. I will shoot a note to support.

thank you ! appreciate it

This would indicate that completing a career path grants a badge, but not a certificate…

“Career Paths are comprehensive training programs designed to prepare you for the most in-demand roles in the cybersecurity workforce. Each path follows a Learn, Practice, Prove model and includes different activity types aligned to key topics within the path’s security domain. As you progress through the path, your progress will be measured in real time using Experience Points (XP) that serve as a comprehensive capability score for each topic. Upon completing all of the requirements for a path, you will be rewarded with a shareable digital badge via Credly.”

I’m still asking support anyway though.

I sure for knows that soc career path has a certificate. I’ve seen it. So that doesn’t make much sense that one career path got certificate and others don’t. Also upon completing certain module they shower you with certificates so i assumed of course after completing everything there will be a certificate too

We previously offered Certificates of Completion for early versions of the Career Paths - which were just collections of video courses and third-party vendor labs - but replaced these with Credly Badges when we revamped the Career Paths last year to be more of a structured curriculum.

We currently do not offer Certificates of Completion at the Path level - just for Courses and Virtual Labs - as the internal structure of the new multi-stage Path is dramatically different than the loose content collections we previously offered.

That said, we are currently working on adding Certificates of Completion for the Learn portion of the paths. I expect those will be available in the next week or two.

I see thank you for clarifying. So I’ve finished the learning and labs so when that new certificate will be available, will I be required to have premium at that time or i can get the certificate since I’ve completed all the requirements? @CalmQuail2332

You’ll be able to get the certificate regardless of your CIP status. I can’t promise that won’t change down the road, but you’ll be fine in 1-2 weeks.

I expected new certificate too, so I can share it in social media like linkedin.
Thank you for your time and consideration

You can share the Credly badge via LinkedIn. The forthcoming certificate will only encompass the Learn portion of the path.

any update on this ?

Hey there - this release has been paused while we work with CompTIA to determine whether they will pre-approve content at the Path/Collection level - as well as getting our list of pre-approved content updated.

I’m hoping we will go ahead and get the collection-level Certificates of Completion released anyways this week, but it may be moot if CompTIA isn’t willing to pre-approve at the Path/Collection level.

i see, from a learner’s perspective, having a Certificate of Completion really adds value particularly when applying to jobs or sharing progress with HR and recruiters, who tend to prioritize certificates over badges.

I’m still hopeful that a certificate for full Path gets released soon. Looking forward to any further updates you can share.

Thanks again for the transparency. @CalmQuail2332

Thanks for clarifying. So to confirm, this isn’t for CompTIA CEU documentation (the most common reason learners use Certificates of Completion) but for general documentation purposes?

We’re also working on adding Certificates of Completion for the complete Path, but this is also tied up in our conversations with CompTIA related to pre-approval.

For what it’s worth, Credly offers a much higher degree of integrity and verifiability than PDF Certificates, and is commonly recognized as a trusted digital credentialing platform, but I certainly understand that HR and Recruiters tend to have their own preferences that vary from organization to organization.

yes, to confirm, I’m not referring to CompTIA CEU documentation in this case.

My request was specifically for general career certificates like IT and Cybersecurity Foundations which I’ve completed. I’m currently progressing through the SOC Analyst Career Path as well.

i recall previously cybrary used to give a completion certificates like this removed the name for privacy

Gotcha - thanks for confirming. So I’m guessing the use case is retaining a local copy for future reference, alongside other career documentation?

sorry i didn’t quite get you , all i am requesting is a downloadable Certificate of Completion for the full Path, it still be very useful from a career-readiness standpoint. like it was earlier so when i finish soc analyst i have a basic certificate to show for instead of a just a credly badge.
